Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Award for Uplifting Human Values
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's message of compassion, commitment to society, and a universal understanding of life, has resounded in the lives of millions worldwide. Through the regeneration of human values, he seeks global peace and development by bringing about sustained individual commitment to joyful living, selfless service and self-awareness. He has put this into action by creating the Art of Living Foundation and the International Association for Human Values. The Art of Living Foundation is represented in 140 countries, making it amongst the largest United Nations’ accredited organizations in the world.
As part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration, the Art of Living Foundation has established the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Award for Uplifting Human Values. This Award seeks to recognize members of our society who have demonstrated their commitments to improve human values in our communities hence create a better world.
This award is being given in four different categories. These categories are:

- For-profit business
- Faith-based
- Youth

In selecting candidates for the award, the committee has looked at various factors. These include:
- Demonstrating commitment to upholding the Human Values which unify our community
- Emboding the spirit of compassion, respect and upliftment of the individual
- Working to build understanding between multicultural communities
- Employing non-violent means for creating social transformation
- Initiating change for greater understanding of environmental concerns
- Implementing creative solutions for conflict resolution
- Dedication to generating harmony in our society
A committee of reviewers external to the Art of Living Foundation review candidates against these criteria. In making the selection, the nominees may meet three or more of the criteria established above. The recipient will receive the award on the February 17.
